Perpetual Licensing is the most traditional method to purchase software in the IT world. It comes with its benefits :

Simply put, you pay a one-time fee and the right to use the software as opposed to a subscription where it is more of a renting fee. This is complemented with a yearly support fee to cover maintenance and free access to new versions at equivalent functional perimeter.
This model is particularly interesting for you if you know your company will need the software for a long term period.
This model offers unlimited and all time access to the solution for a single upfront cost. As a customer, what you do is essentially buying the right to use the software perpetually.

With this licensing model, the service provided is a ready to use ever green solution hosted by the provider. You can concentrate on your business without having to care with installations, updates or parametrizations.
This model make it easier and faster to upgrade or downgrade your subscription model whenever your needs change (users add-ons or/and change, software solutions add-ons or/and change...).
You lose access to the solution when you stop paying the fee. But in the other hand, you pay an annual or up to five years fee to access the software. So the immediate cost before using the solution is much more affordable compared to a perpetual license where you have to pay a large one-time fee. Here, you only pay for what you need and how many time you need it. Furthermore, support cost is included in the selected term (1-5 years).
When subscribing to a SaaS license model, the fee (1-5 years) includes updates. Because technology is evolving rapidly, the solution needs to be updated frequently. By including updates in the subscription fee, you as a customer doesn’t need to worry about your solution to be up and running and you can focus on your activity more and less on the maintenance.

Like the SaaS licensing model, the subscription term license offer the possibility to choose the term you are confortable with or which fits your project and needs. This allows you to manage costs while still be able to project yourself into the future. So here, you can subscribe to the required software solution from one year up to five years from the starting point of your project.
Like the SaaS licensing model, because you are able to choose between one year and five years term subscription, your initial fee will be less heavy compared to a perpetual license. Furthermore, support cost is included in the selected term (1-5 years).
Like the SaaS licensing model, the subscription term licensing model makes it easier and faster to upgrade or downgrade your subscription model whenever your needs change (users add-ons or/and deletion, software solutions add-ons or/and deletion…).
