The GDPR Regulation is the biggest reform in European data protection legislation in the last 30 years and companies have until May 25, 2018 to adapt to it. The reform includes:
- Responsibility
- Integrity and confidentiality (End to End Security)
- Reporting of violation of data (Gaps)
- Protection of data by design and by default
- Higher visibility of personal data
- Right to data portability
- Elimination (the "right to be forgotten")
Failure to comply with any of the above may lead to fines of 2 to 4% of the company's overall turnover.
