Abstract Building an identity repository is at the heart of identity and access management. In fact, no matter how high the quality of an access security policy, no matter how effective its implementation, and no matter how refined the reporting tools are, if the user-defining data is not reliable the entire structure is bound to collapse. A number of obstacles may be encountered while building such a repository, like using a too complex model, a purely technical approach or even a mixture of user-defining data and rights-defining data. Before embarking on such a project, it is important to use an approach that will enable you to define simple, robust and effective models and processes during its implementation. This white paper describes the minimum model that can be used to implement an identity repository from multiple sources. |
