Vigil launches recruitment push for new channel partners in government and health sectors

LONDON – Specialist security distributor Vigil Software has signed a new distribution contract with leading security vendor Evidian, to build channel sales for Evidian IAM Suite, a range of identity and access management solutions. The move marks the start of a concerted push by the distributor to recruit UK channel partners to sell and support the security vendor’s product range. The initiative will focus particularly on resellers specialising in the health, government and police sectors, where compliance requirements are driving a surge in demand for secure access, authentication and identity management solutions.

Findings indicate that operational risk control is the major driver in banks’ IT spending, and over 50% will increase spending in IT security. But while identity and access management is an important driver of IT investment, inhibitors to wider adoption – often exaggerated – remain.

PARIS – Evidian, the identity and access management (IAM) company, announced the release of a European research paper on banks’ approaches to identity and access management. The Datamonitor paper is based on surveys and interviews performed in end 2008 and early 2009 among top IT managers of European banks.

The software solution was first deployed in its holding company to secure user access; 600 employees and journalists in RTL Group’s Luxembourg site now access their applications easily and securely after a single authentication via Evidian’s software.
