Evidian unveils access management in IAM Suite 8
Evidian presents at the Infosecurity France show the latest version of its access management modules, integrated into IAM Suite 8, its new identity, access and role management software suite.
Paris, November 21, 2007: Bull Evidian, the European leader for identity and access management (IAM), announces today the reinforcement of the Access Management modules of its new modular and integrated offer. With these new modules, Evidian is extending its enterprise SSO offer (marketed under the name WiseGuard), its authentication-management offer and its web and SOA application access management offer.
“With the launching of IAM Suite 8 in June 2007, Evidian has innovatively federated identity, access and role management at the service of business processes”, says Hassan Maad, the COO of Evidian. “Today, we are completing the IAM Suite 8 offer with access-management modules, to help organizations reduce even more their IAM and security-infrastructure deployment time, and reinforce their business agility”.
Enterprise SSO and strong-authentication functions simplify and speed up the deployment of IAM projects
Evidian’s enterprise SSO, a key Access Management component, automates henceforth the initial phase of IAM projects which consists in collecting accounts and associating them with users. The Evidian Enterprise SSO, combined with Evidian Strong Authentication and Evidian Data Privacy modules, now offers a quick deployment solution for authentication, SSO and data-protection services.
With the integration of all the services under the unified technology of IAM Suite 8, Evidian brings in the missing link between the creation of a role-based security policy and system provisioning.
By combining its SSO offer and an innovative methodology, Evidian is speeding up significantly the implementation of identity lifecycle management processes. The sequential preparation tasks, often a source of delay and risks with the classic approaches of solutions available on the market, are automated through the collection of existing access rights. These access rights serve as a departure point for creating a role-based security policy (extended RBAC model) that is also redefined with the deployment of SSO.
Since the proof element is decisive for the creation of the access-management brick, Evidian is introducing new extensions for sectors like the healthcare sector and government agencies. Thus, the direct integration of new authentication methods – radio badges and electronic certificates – brings in an immediate value in view of the specific requirements of these activities.
Exchanging encrypted data effectively
Evidian Data Privacy proposes secure data exchange functions with a simplified user interface, centralized key management and easy file-sharing procedures.
Evidian Data Privacy facilitates confidential data encryption in an organization. By combining access management with data protection, Evidian is proposing an alternative to solutions that are often isolated on user PCs and difficult to manage. These two functions are managed centrally according to the same business criteria used already for the SSO function. The approach reduces administrative costs considerably and offers centralized audit.
Federating identities in inter-domain environments
Evidian Web Access Manager now has an inter-domain extension that opens up an organization to its ecosystem.
Based on Identity Federation and SAML standard, Evidian enables users in the organization to easily access password-protected inter-domain applications. Accesses to these applications are integrated into an SAML infrastructure, thus offering a solution that is immediately deployable.
Since it speeds up the implementation of operational infrastructure, this new extension saves organizations the trouble of implementing complex Identity Federation. It allows users from a trusted SAML domain to access password-protected application in a visited domain.
